Description

The UAF73 is built from a high-tech fabric known as "Araflame Plus" and offers permanent fire resistance while still remaining soft and flexible. The materials are pre-shrunk to so you dont have to worry about washing instructions.  The coveralls are lightweight (4.5oz) and are inherently resistant to fire. Amaflame Plus is 93% meta-aramid (heat resistance), 5% para-aramid (strength) and 2% carbon fiber (anti-static).

The UAF73 is equipped with reflective tape to highlight individuals in low-light working conditions.  Accidents are significantly less likely to occur when individuals are clearly recognizable as human beings.

  • Permanent fire resistant protection; no max wash.
  • Heavy-duty FR Reflective Tape offers significant boost to visibility
  • Maintains color and minimizes shrinkage
  • 8 Pockets: 2 front, 2 side, 2 back, 1 ruler and 1 sleeve

Araflame Plus (93% meta-aramid, 5% para-aramid & 2% carbon fiber)
  • Inherently flame resistant fabric whose FR properties will not dimish or wash away.
  • 93% Meta-aramid: Offers outstanding heat and flame protection while remaining soft & lightweight
  • 5% Para-aramid: Gives the fabric strength to prevent breaches in the armor
  • 2% Carbon Fiber: Makes the material anti-static
  • Dyed at high temperatures to prevent the color from fading
  • Pre-shrunk to prevent the coverall from getting smaller after each wash
  • Smooth material feels nice on the skin
Fire Resistant Properties
  • ARC1 – Individual must wear an arc rated FR shirt, and FR pants, or FR Coverall with an arc rating of at least 4 cal/cm².
  • Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV): 5.9 cal/cm²
  • HAF: 63.1%

The ASTM F1959/F1959M-12 standard is a test method designed for determining the ARC rating of materials for Clothing.

This testing method is often used in close conjunction with NFPA 70E for classifying PPE.

The EN 1149-5 Safety Standard specifically tests the ability of a fabric to protect the wearer against the danger of static electricity.

This product MEETS the performance requirements set by the EN 1149-5 standard. This product is fully capable to protect the wearer against the danger posed by static electricity.

The EN ISO 11612 standard is used to test a garments ability to limit fire spread, and protect against exposed, radiant, convective or contact heat as well as molten metal splashes.

The Alphanumeric codes follow the EN ISO 11612 designates the fabric’s grade in a specified test.

A1 + A2 – This garment passes the Limited Flame Spread test for Surface & Edge ignition.
B1 – This garment can withstand exposure to extreme convective heat for 4-10 seconds before rising above 24°C
C1 – This garment can withstand exposure to extreme radiant heat for 7-20 seconds before rising above 24°C
F1 – This garment can withstand exposure to contact heat for 5-10 seconds before rising above 24°C

The NFPA 2112 standard specifies the minimum requirements for a garment to be considered “fire resistant”.

Garments which are certified NFPA 2112 must pass each of the following tests:

Heat Transfer Performance – Tests how much heat is transferred through a garment
Vertical Flammability Test – Tests how easily the fabrics ignite and continue to burn
Thermal Shrinkage Test – Tests the fabrics resistance to shrinkage when exposed to heat
Heat Resistance Test – Tests how the fabric reacts to extremely high heats
Thermal Manikan Test – An overall test on the how the fabric performs in a coverall design exposed to 3s of extreme temperatures
Thread Melting Test – Threads used in cerified NFPA 2112 garments must use threads that can withstand temperatures of 500℉
